Block Technology Team (BTT)

List of BTT members

            There are 20 Block Technology Teams (BTTs) are formed in in the District comprising of officers drawn from line departments functioning at block level, will develop, implement and monitor all field activities in association with Farmer Advisory Committee (FAC) through farmer groups / SHGs / FIGs.

Role of BTT

BTT will be responsible for 

  • Preparation of Block Action Plan in consultation with FAC.

  • Execution of Block Action Plan in collaboration with FAC through Farmers’ Interest Groups (FIGs).

  • Maintenance of proper accounts for the funds received from ATMA.

  • It will consist of members drawn from various farming communities / groups with atleast 30% members from women folk. The FAC will consist of following Technical guidance to FIGs and farmers.

  • Maintenance of liaison with input / service / marketing / processing sectors for effective linkages between them and the farming community.

  • Coordination with KVKs and ZRS for conducting on farm research and field studies.

  • Identification and replication of success stories and indigenous technical knowledge (ITK).

  • Updating the agricultural profile at regular intervals.

  • Involvement of Non-Government Organisations (NGOs) identified by the ATMA for the roganisation of FIGs.

  • Organizing training camps, field days, exposure visits and conducting demonstrations.

  • Development of support system for involvement of private sector entrepreneurs.

  • Appropriate guidance to the base level extension workers.

          One person from any line department appointed as Office in Charge (OIC) for each Block Technology Team. He would be under administrative supervision of his/her respective line department head. In addition, the OIC would receive technical and programmatic guidance from the ATMA Project Director and the Management Committee. However to ensure that a dynamic and effective person is selected for this position. 

          The FIAC members would be under the administrative control of their respective line department heads. However, technical and programmatic supervision would be provided by the OIC for the FIAC.
